Dr. Ricard Ferrer is Director of the Intensive Care Department of Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. He graduated in 1992 from the University of Barcelona, Medical School and pursued his specialisation in Intensive Care from 1994 to 1998 in the Intensive care Unit of the Hospital General Universitari Vall d’Hebron, Barcelona. He received the PhD in Medicine in 2010 from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.
Dr. Ferrer holds several positions at a numerous intensive care societies and he is member of the steering committee of the Surviving Sepsis Campaign
He has published a number of original articles and review articles in peer reviewed journal in the field of sepsis and has contributed to the publication of book chapters on sepsis and infection.
